"Hm," he replied quietly at the news Cuddy couldn't stay very long, keeping his eyes trained ahead of him. It wasn't visiting hours anyway, so she'd probably get ushered out before long. But he was still disappointed. Maybe it was a good thing, though. All he wanted to do now was hole up in his room to get as far away from any kind of talking as possible. Still, he got to see Cuddy so little that the visits she paid felt rushed and over with much too quickly.

He nodded when she went on to say that she felt better about everything, thanks to the session with Megan. He supposed he did, too, in some ways. He supposed he felt more hopeful knowing that he'd made progress, according to his doctor. That didn't ease the fact that he was still stuck in here, though, and that didn't ease the fact that he was lonely and wished he was home instead.

"Yeah," he replied. "You're lucky you caught Dr. Lecter on a day she wasn't hungry. Normally she tries to eat me."

Nearing his room, he slipped arm free from Cuddy and pushed the door open. He held it open for Cuddy and felt like he could finally relax once the door shut, closing out the rest of the ward. He turned around and limped into the room, lifting his cane to toss it over onto his bed. Then he approached Cuddy and drew her to him, wrapping his arms around her shoulders to cuddle her close.
